Jarosik not up for relegation scrap
08/11/2005
Birmingham City's on-loan midfielder Jiri Jarosik has said that he doesn't want to stay at the Midlands club if they are fighting a relegation battle.
The Czech Republic international, on loan from Chelsea, has also said that he would favour a return to Russian side CSKA Moscow, the club which the Premiership champions signed him from in January.
"To be in a fight to avoid relegation with Birmingham is something that would not help me in the best years of my career and I will have to make a decision soon," Jarosik said.
"It is better to be at a club which plays consistently in the Uefa Champions League or in the Uefa Cup, like CSKA."
Birmingham currently sit second from bottom in the Premiership and their only win came against local rivals West Brom a game which Jarosik scored in.
Manager Steve Bruce has had to cope with a massive injury list but the club's plight is something which concerns Jarosik and has motivated him to look elsewhere for his football.
"We are dogged by injuries and there are only five players who play constantly with the rest the ones who are fit at the moment," Jarosik added.
"At the minute, my ankle hurts but I simply play because almost half of the team are injured."
