Marketing waste reduced by Bluetooth innovation
19/09/2008
A young Manchester company has come up with a way of cutting down marketing waste and appealing to niche customers.
Information technology support firm Greenlight Computers Ltd has been rolling out trials of a new product - Bluetooth marketing.
Because the arm of the business is fairly new, the two-year-old company has been receiving support from Knowledge To Innovate (K2i).
K2i has paired the company up with a marketing firm, which has been busy attracting more Bluetooth clients.
Greenlight managing director Gary Dodson said: "The mobile telephone is the communication tool of choice for the 21st century and Bluetooth helps get messages to a mobile audience free of charge."
Mr Dodson said it need not only be used by commercial companies, it could also be used to promote public health messages, events and to contact people in the case of an emergency.
The company is currently offering businesses taster sessions of marketing by Bluetooth.
